Harmony at the Heart of Beaver Island

TUNES Music Makers provides accessible, high-quality music education and creative opportunities to the Beaver Island community, with a special focus on improving the mental health and well-being of both young people and older adults. By fostering creativity, building confidence, and strengthening social connections across generations, we enrich lives while preserving the islandโ€™s unique musical heritage. Our mission is to ensure that every member of our communityโ€”regardless of age, background, or financial situationโ€”can experience the transformative power of music as a tool for personal growth, emotional wellness, and cultural continuity.

Music Lessons for Every Ageโ€”With Youth at the Center

We believe every young person on Beaver Island deserves access to musicโ€”regardless of finances. That’s why TUNES Music Makers offers scholarships to support lessons and music education opportunities, funded entirely through private donations and fundraising.

Lessons run inย 12-week sessions. Before each session begins, we review registrations and award scholarships based on need and available funding. To stay true to our mission and serve the community responsibly, we prioritize scholarships forย school-aged students first, followed byย senior citizens, and thenย adults if funding remains.

And in gratitude for their service:ย Veterans receive music lessons at no cost.

If you are interested in lessons, we encourage you to apply under Registration.

The 2025 Charlevoix County Community Foundation Youth Needs Grant helped make our middle/high school Rock Band Class possible by providing additional studio time for our students to learn, rehearse, and grow together under the direction of band instructor Paul Lamb.

The grant covered a portion of the program, but the rest is made possible through the generosity of people like you.

Just look at what your support is making possible. ๐Ÿค˜ ๐ŸŽถ
